Light it Up

I haven't been very good about blogging, but its something I'm working on. I'm not one for New Years resolutions, so let's just say I'm working on my sharing skills.

To kick things off I'd thought I'd share some festive light pictures I took downtown Denver.  They are pretty commonly photographed sites as I found out that night.  It turned out to be an ironically warm December Saturday night, which meant that a large amount of photographers were out, on top of the bustling night life of downtown.  There's so much to see and do.  The German market was in town, lots of people at the skating rink by the clock tower, hot chocolate at the corner bakery, horse drawn carriage rides, and even a large group of people dressed in Muppet character Snuggies. It gave me a different perspective going downtown with the sole purpose of taking photos. One that I'm sure I will be doing again.

We started off at the famous Union Station.

Then from there we went to the Daniel & Fisher Clock Tower and ended with the City & County building.

Pumpkin Picking

One thing that I've realized that is a fun thing to do is visit a pumpkin patch.  Something fun about picking out your own pumpkin on a nice October day.  Not only is it fun, but it can make for some great family photos.  I got the opportunity to meet up with my friend Rupi, her husband, and her adorable little son at the Cottonwood Farm near Boulder.  It was an unusually warm October day, but we still managed to have a ton of fun, get some great shots, and hang out chasing around her adorable 2 year old boy who was full of curiosity! Rupi is also a Stella & Dot representative, so as you can see she knew how to accessorize with some beautiful jewelry.

Platte River Family Photos

I've always found the Commons park area along the Platte river in downtown Denver to be a beautiful spot. And when my friend had her son I hoped that I would get the opportunity to photograph such an adorable little guy. Well when she asked me to take family photos I was absolutely thrilled! Here's just a few of the one's that we got that day.  I had a lot of fun working with them, they are such an easy going family. Love the smiles!

Steve and Jeanie's Anniversary

I am fortunate that I have friends that believe in me.  One such instance was when my friends Mandi and Richard were getting married and it happened to be right around her parents anniversary, so she asked if I could take a few anniversary shots of her parents to celebrate since they happened to be all dressed up and looking fancy.  Its awesome to be around a couple that even after so many years have so much love for each other.

Why I Love CO in June

As much as I would love my June to include a view like that of a beach on Kauai...

...there is something to be said about living Aloha on the mainland.

I live for weekends full of photo opportunities, especially in CO on warm June summer days. A weekend outdoors full of flowers, friends, and fun.

Everywhere I look it seems like there are smiles and happy faces.

While enjoying a delightful evening drive through Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) we happened upon Moose here. One of those classic moments of being in the right place at the right time with a camera. I took this shot from the car window and man what a poser, didn’t even say cheese, but he must have been having a good day cause he had quite the grin.

These little fox kits were right outside our condo up in Granby.  They were very curious little ones and didn't mind me hanging around.  Definitely acted like they were no stranger to the camera, especially the one on the right, she was such a little poser.  Look at that sly little grin!

The rest of the photos I took around Sol Vista Ski resort and Headwaters Golf Course.

Enjoy!

Allow Me to Introduce Myself

Hello and welcome to my blog!

I've decided that with all the photo and design opportunities life has been throwing at me lately (and with all the fun that I've been having!) that I might as well share my experiences – my world as I see it.  Whether via lens, computer, or my very own peepers, I search for everyday things that give me purpose. This journey has taught me to appreciate the present; that I am happiest to just be. Hence, the name for my design and photography business…

Happy2Be is a new venture for me, though years in the making.  I truly hope you enjoy participating in my journey as much as I do.  Feel free to follow along, or if you are simply interested in more of my work, feel free to visit my website at http://www.happy2bedesignphotography.com/.
